At the end of the 2nd period in the Nationals in Grand Forks, ND, they were down 0-5, but never giving up, in the 3rd they closed the gap to a 4-6 loss to the much bigger Eveleth team, which featured the 6'1" Gus Hendrickson who went on to play for Michigan State and then coach U of MN-Duluth 1962-75.
